Who We Are

Jamie excels in three key areas: strategic planning, communications, and ministry assessment.  Throughout his career he has been recognized for communicating and crafting messages in a clear and compelling manner, as well as building valuable relationships and teams within myriad ministry communities. A strategic thinker with an outgoing personality, Jamie is a creative self-starter and leader, leveraging his skill set to grow ministries, successfully complete projects, and walk alongside churches and organizations while sharing his passion for advancing God’s Kingdom.

Jamie launched Silverleaf with the mission to elevate churches and ministries in their pursuit of vitalized ministry.  He does so through these main areas:

Strategic Planning – Help craft strategic plans to accomplish vision, mission, and goals.  Using biblical principles and tools such as SWOT and gap analyses, along with 360-degree leadership surveys, Jamie works with ministries to ensure a clear plan for accomplishing ministry goals is implemented and executed.

Communications – Assist organizations with creating strategic and integrated communications plans (including social media), brand management, advising for website design and mobile app development, implementing analytics, surveying equipment needs.

Ministry Assessment – Thoroughly assess ministries and provide clear reports that reflect where ministries are excelling, where there are gaps, as well as an intentional plan for the best “next steps” to address a ministry’s greatest needs.

After graduating from Hope College (B.A. Religion), Jamie went on to receive his Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary.  While in seminary, Jamie launched the youth ministry for a church plant then spent time working for Young Life, first as a volunteer then on staff as a team leader.  Upon completing an internship serving in church-based campus ministry at the University of Michigan, Jamie accepted a call to a church serving as College Pastor, ministering to the students, faculty, and staff of Johns Hopkins University.  In four years he strategically and effectively developed a handful of students into a community of 70-plus.

After four years in Baltimore, Jamie spent the next six-and-a-half in Avon, Connecticut, where he was the primary teacher, leader, and pastor for college students, young professionals, and young married couples at a large multi-pastor church.  In addition to this role, he was director for the outreach program “Alpha”, teaching pastor of a new worship service, creative contributor for the worship planning team, and helped implement a church-wide strategic, integrated communications plan.

Jamie is passionate about strategically and effectively helping churches and ministries.

He has been involved in ministry for 20 years, and has been an ordained pastor for the past 12.  Jamie has been married to Heather, an epidemiologist and university professor, for 10 years. Along with their three children, the Sipsmas live in the Greater Chicagoland area.
